That's a savage bike though. Still keep up with the best of them and take a lot more abuse.

Coobies and RangeRansom, what set ups are you running?

I ran a S&M War Pig frame with quit a lot of Kink Bike Co parts. Primo crankset and some random Snafu parts. I loved that bike, I think I still have the bike somewhere in storage. I'll see if I can dig it out and snap a few pics.

mine is pretty much "stock" lol

just put some pedals, new seat post and a fat cap seat

I'm about done with 20" bikes though, lol, being 6'1" i look a bit goofy on them. 2 years ago i cleared out some woods nearby and made a nice little track, but our town decided to clear out the track and turn it into a walking/hiking path, so that ruined my spirits of continuing riding bmx bikes

Yeah I know the feeling. I recently decided to get back into biking and went with a mountain bike instead. BMX was fun, but I enjoy dirt trails more, so I went with the mountain bike.

Geeze man, I wrote half a book in this thread last night and the site hung up after sub-mit , - I lost the damn post.

One more time.

Anyway , yea, that's a cool project restoring an old two stroke. Easy to, - makes it more fun /-more beer time.

Most of my bikes were open bores, - First was a TM 400, The n the RM 400 (fricken ROCKET), - right around 1978, KX 420 (dog). Then a couple Maico's. A Magnum followed up and replaced with A Alpha one(Last Maico).

Then I tried the Husky. Just haven't because they never placed on the track (moto-cross) , they looked slow most of the time lol. Well, except when Burlson was in the seat flying thru the desert.

Anyway, I picked up a 390 , - couldn't keep a clutch in the Maico. But yea, loved riding that bike. Not so much on the track, but up north, thru the woods, mountain climbing, burning up the back roads from town to town. Th bike was a blast. Screw the track. Yea, here's one -

It doesn't have the top end the 500 CR has, but that 390 is balanced so well, -80 mph wheelies in those long straights were very easy to accomplish. Set the front end back down when ever you feel like it. Husky's are climbers as well.. Fun stuff. That would be cool finding one of those to fix up like new again.

I like the 500 as well, - just not as much lol. Right after I purchased that one (new in 92 , I think? Or 94 maybe, - I ripped all the plastic off the thing before riding it. This was the year Honda tried to change colors. - Anyone remember that ? They went from that perfect CR red to iduno, - a Florescent Pink I guess you could say. Yea, it was fairy so it had to go. I couldn't get the factory red ( cr red) for the 500 because the number plates were a new design, - somewhat and so they said. What's funny about that, I installed new 2 year old plates in white , no problem. Yea lol. Still better than that pissporepink, -regardless.

5 grand ? I can't recall how much, - sounds like it, - by the time everything is said and done. Yea $4800 rings a bell now.

But yea, that would be a cool project for sure.

I want a motorcycle so damn bad. I love street bikes, but also like harley's.

The wife like's harley's, and they are expensive new or used.

What would be a good bike to start off on since I am 6'3 and I'd never get a 600 for a street bike.

Harley's expensive? Naa. I only have about 30k into mine

If your looking to get into a decent Harley starter bike check out the new Sportsters ( little small for a guy 6'3" though). They come in 883's and 1200's. There affordably priced, under 10k for the 883 and come in a lot of cool colors and themes theses days. Or go used of you want a bigger bike.

Either way, make the wife happy and get a Hog
