Anyone know how to sync Outlook email with Android phone?

I got a new phone, Motorolla Atrix 2, and can't seem to figure out how to sync it with Microsoft Outlook 2007 email. I found several apps that sync Outlook contacts, notes and calendars but none with the email.

It may not be possible but I thought someone on here would know if it was.

Thanks!

Is it work email and is it a server based Outlook email (Go to a website and view email) and also do you have it pushed to Outlook on you computer?

Would it be sync with the email client on your PC or the email account ?

If you have gmail and use outlook as you client on your PC you should be setup as imap.
Same for other email accounts, as long as they offer an imap interface.

This way you imap sync between your PC and the email account and the Android email app ( which ever one supports imap ) and the email account.

I have converted all my email accounts to be pulled to my gmail account ( into separate folders ) and just use the single gmail app on my bb now. Handy as now gmail is the central for the calender and contacts and syncs PC to gmail to phone, no more plug in to sync contacts or backup contacts. Ran over my Torch back in JUN, and went to ATT to get a new one. Guy said he might be able to recover the contacts, told him don't bother. Once I get it operational, and the gmail sync app on, everything will be recovered.

Whewww! I might have mentioned I'm not super computer tech savvy!

But if I understand correctly it is a client email on my pc and not web based. I open up Outlook on my pc and check and send mail there. I do have a gmail account now that I had to set up to get Android apps.

So maybe my question should be how do you sync the gmail with the outlook on the pc?

If your email is client based.......get all your account info

On your Atrix2....
Find settings ...press it
Then accounts....press it
Then add account......press it

At that moment you'll be given options....

I use "corperate sync" for work server based email
I use "email" for my personal email through the cable company

Hope this helps....

If you can set it up ( or it is already setup ) as an imap account you can use any email app on the phone sync to the email account.
- This would be sync outlook to email account and sync phone to email account, so when you delete an email from the phone, it syncs to the account, and the next sync of outlook to the account would remove it there.

If it is a pop account, you would need to change it to imap, which it may or may not allow, which would mean changing it in your outlook client as well.

If you don't want to mess with changing what you have, you can setup gmail to pull that email account ( via the gmail web page ), and add gmail account to outlook.
http://support.google.com/mail/bin/a...n&answer=21289

In this section you can set the default email from account once you have added the other email address, so you can always send from the same personal account not gmail if you want to.

The next step would be to add the gmail account to outlook.

The outlook client, if you leave the default as the pop account you would not sync the sent emails ion your PC with your phone is what would be lost and the sent from your phone would default to your gmail account.
- Don't know how much you care about this.

Comes down to if you can and want to change the personal account from pop to imap.
