Dynatrac Exceeds, Superb Customer Service......
Yup, that's where I was going. At that point the actual material is pretty thin and it looks like the part was made from a casting. The billet piece will be stronger but the design is still weak there. On the flip side that looks like the "safety valve" that will be the first place to go if the system is overloaded. It looks like that piece is not too bad to change on the trail. It might be better to break that piece instead of taking out something more critical and harder to fix.
Definitely a plus that it's easily changeable, but you'd think on an EXPENSIVE 1 ton axle they'd have a lot wider pattern for the studs
I snap knuckles instead of steering arms, which either means have a spare knuckle or weld on your steering arm to the knuckle to get off the trail

Thanks, yes I've had braking issues, already destroyed 1 caliper and disk.
Had a the rear lifted 2" which cause the truck to violently lift at the rear on take off. Linked components are being adjusted now to compensate for it.
My rebuild and upgraded transmission failed so I had a Jaster transmission installed. http://www.jasperengines.com/transmissions.php
The driver's side cats went out so I had both driver and passenger's cats replaced. No aftermarket part for the 2008 so I had to have Ford install them.....Uhmmm....Vaseline was not include in the price so the event wasn't a pain in the neck; I have a much lower opinion but I can't say it in here.
My 7th header, (4 JBA), has cracks all over, "AGAIN". Was gonna go back to stock headers but Mel @ Off Road Evolution suggested I talk to the fellow who fabricates headers for trophy tucks.
The fellow said he can fabricate some long tube headers including the material that goes all the way out to the tail pipe that will withstand the excessive amount of heat the supper charger releases. He will use my cats. Don't ask me how much that will cost cause I'm embarrassed to say 8gs is way too much money but I don't care how much it cost I just want/need something that will actually work!
Other than that I enjoy the truck every time I get a chance to ride it on the trials.

The part looks nice but I have a few questions.
-What size are the holes and how far are they center to center?
It really looks like there's not too much material left to carry the load.
-Is there some type of bushing that has been pressed into where the tie rod goes and what is the part made from? It looks like aluminum in the picture. If this is the case the you could develop a problem there. Aluminum is very abrasive to steel, at this turning point it would not take long to wear out the pin on the tie rod.
-Are you gonna carry a spare on just in case lightening strikes twice?

The billet piece was not lazer cut out of aluminum but out of some other stronger material. Mel mentioned the name but my short term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. .........Did I tell you that my short term memory is not as sharp as it used to be? Yeah man, my short term memory is not as sharp as it used to be.
One reason Dynatrac can't make anything wider is because there is no room for it.
I'll keep you posted on the correct measurements and the name of the metal used when all is said and done.

Any reason you didn't go with hi-flo cats or even no cats and have a tune to write them out so you throw no code?
Educate me on on hi-flo cats or no cats at all, please.....I said please.
A custom written tune for the truck, the tuner can tune things on and off on the computer so you will not throw a check engine light which will allow the use of no cats at all. You are in california, so if you inspector realizes you have no cats, you might fail but it SHOULD pass the obdII portion of the test (it will in texas). I know technically when i did the job, we were supposed to visually look to see if they were there, but it's one of those things, most of us didn't like climbing under a car to check unless we had reason to so that's where hi-flows come into play so you can still pass everything.
Hi-flow cats, i'm not sure on much as i have never installed a set, but they are an aftermarket set of catalytic converters just welding in place of the OEM cats. Will be louder than stock, but you can always find an aftermarket cat that doesn't increase sound as well. Any muffler shop should tell you that, but sound more intelligent than my post
Shoot darrenws6 a message, and he should be able to actually steer you in a good direction.

The other material it looks like it could be is stainless steel. It's the wrong color for carbon steel or titanium.
I have a Magnaflow high flow cat on my old Porsche. It should pass a smog and visual check if they had them here in Arkansas. I tool the air pump off so I would not pass a California visual check. The new exhaust system opened the motor up quite a bit and make quite a bit louder.
