The higher passer rating is more impressive, but I think Brees has a slight edge. And that is because he is a better passer when the pocket breaks down around him. Rodgers may get even better with more experience, though.
I still smh when I think about the Chargers letting Brees go. What were they thinking?

Here is the correct list for Single Season passing yards
http://www.pro-football-reference.co...gle_season.htm
Player/Yards/Year
1. Drew Brees 5,476 2011
2. Tom Brady 5,235 2011
3. Dan Marino 5,084 1984
4. Drew Brees 5,069 2008
5. Matthew Stafford 5,038 2011
6. Eli Manning 4,933 2011
I think the passer rating record is more impressive.
3 guys threw for 5000 + yards this year and Eli Manning was 67 yards short of 5,000 himself. I think this is the era of the QB in the NFL and the fact that Marino got 5,235 in 1984 is amazing. He did it in a time when the QBs actually had to play football (like they actually could get touched and tackled back then. I wouldn't be suprised if the NFL puts airbags around the QBs in the next couple of years to prevent defenses from getting to close to them)
I would bet money that the Brees record won't stand for long.
