It's been awhile!

Damn it's been awhile. Figured I'd give an update on what's been goin on truck wise.

The grey truck was parked around May. It started running funny and I didn't want to do more damage than what was already done. I've eliminated timing issues so it may be the ignition. Won't know till I get it in the shop.

Bought a new truck at the beginning of July. 2004 F150 Lariat with 91,xxx miles. Fully loaded, sunroof, 5.4 Triton, backup sensors, etc. 35" STT's with 20" Gear Alloy wheels, Flowmaster muffler, Poweraid TBS, K&N filter, and bull bar with KC's. Done a few mods to it, but not as many as I'd like Looking at the DIY threads for some mod ideas, and I've got a few

Anyways, here's the pics up until present day.

Added chrome stealth bulbs

Removed the running boards

I love the colour combo! Looks good!

I don't like the black tube bars, I think chrome would look much better to match the wheels. Other then that it looks really good.

Thanks! I will be looking into getting so power steps to put back on it. I don't like ones that stick out really far from the truck.

It's called a "hot air intake" because it's not really getting any fresh (cold) air to it being "suffocated" under the hood. From factory it's essentially a cold air intake with a baffle.

I'm confused lol. I have the factory intake on it, no tune

The guy I bought it from didn't say anything about the gears. He wasn't too mechanically inclined, but I could be wrong. How would I go about finding out what gears I have without pulling the diff cover off?

They got confused on the K&N filter. sounds like its a drop in. I think most will say the K&N is craap and you would be better off with a paper one. I myself jettesoned mine and wen back to quality paper,Wix. Amsoil sells a cleanable one that isnt oiled. Additionally K&N filters are know to not filter as well along with the oil contamination issues.. The gotts mod is good. Search for that.

Check the door code tag under the axle code will be a 2 digit code like B6.
Think the sticky on axle codes is in the technical articles section.

don't forget the change in the intake for the 04-08 MY, the MAFS / IAT higher than the filter after a 90* turn and in a single module, not the open wire type on the 97-03 MY.

The K&N is just the filter, not an intake. Thought about the Gott's mod and I may do that instead of an aftermarket CAI. I've heard it's just as good and only about $15, any truth to that? I'm looking to do a few mods to the motor (intake, headers, exhaust, etc)without any internal work. Biggest thing would be a SC but that's way down the road.

I would like to upgrade the gears to something a bit bigger. What do you guys recommend?
