Samsung Galaxy Nexus
I picked it up on launch day. There's way too much to say about it. It is amazing. Best phone I've ever owned and would recommend it in a heartbeat. I'm 100% satisfied with the purchase.

Great read! Thanks mblouir great link. Ok, now I am sold..just need to justify the $$ to the wife...she won't care, she almost launched her Droid thru the wall yesterday after it locked up 4 times..
I've had no problems so far with this phone. Blazing fast, ICS is awesome, it's display is beautiful. All-around great device. I had it fully charged and unplugged it at midnight last night. It's been off the charger since and I still have around 20% left.

I'm nervous about rooting it... just don't want to produce a $200+ paperweight. Should I even worry?
Just look on the online Android forums... Android Phans (or something like that) is pretty good, lists out each phone into a forum. The rooting is simple, I'd recommend the "one click root" for your phone and you hook it up to the comp and it gets down for you. I did it last December and have had no issues. Look into what a Nandroid backup is as it is crucial to having everything saved. I just put on a new rom last night (totally different than the HTC Sense based skin my phone had) and I love it. It appears service is better too, which I am baffled by. Just make sure you back everything up and I think you will be fine. Think of it like modding your truck, you are always taking a risk, but you are usually just fine

And check out XDA developers site as well. Most of the stuff is over my head, I just took my time and slowly learned it. I'm not a phone or tech geek either, so it's pretty simple.
Sorry for the Hijack :o
You sound like me

Poke around the forums and see what apps there are... you would have super user control on there so you can get wireless tether for free, new roms (if they are out) speed up the processor. Just read the forums and see what they are doing to them. Yours is still new so the big developers are pioneering that phone right now. I have an old Droid (Eris) and I am running Gingbread from what the phonegeek I work with told me tonight when he looked it at. CyrogenMod is a great developer... they are enormous now
picked up a galaxy last night. been playing with it since. theres a lot going on with this phone. the internet is faster than my laptop. verizon had it for a 2yr upgrade at 299.00. got the extended life battery for 25 more.
the drawback is the phone is big. the good part is the screen is big. cant have it both ways i guess.
