Information on Basecare ESP Coverage.

Hello, This is my first post here on the website. Never before had an issue and prior to i used this site and a few others as reference point due to the amount of information here.

In anycase here's my current problem. I recently bought a F150 Basecare ESP because my vehicle didnt have a warranty. This being only a few weeks ago probably two. Well i took my truck in today to have the engine looked at since it started making a noise last week.

I have a slight ticking sound when the engine warms up that sounds like its coming from the Engine. I received a call from McKie ford earlier today and they're telling me that they're recommending a new engine for it.

I currently drive a 11th Generation Ford F-150 Supercrew Lariat. They believe the ticking sound was due to cam phasers going bad however when they did a teardown of my engine today they said that it looked like there was damage to the internals of the engine thus the recommendation for a new one.

They did tell me they believe it was due to a lack of oil to certain sections of engine due to an Aftermarket oil filter possibly going bad and clogging it up.

My thing is now is will my Warranty cover this? I had my oil changed maybe a month ago. So i know for a fact i had oil in there, and i know for a fact it wasnt leaking oil.

The dealership told me that there's a 90-95% chance that my warranty will cover it however im still a little on edge being that im Military and when talking about a new engine thats about 6-7000$. So its a big chunk of money that i dont have at this time.

Any advice? Or any similar events such as this?
