I'd rather have the s/c 5.4 from the GT500, or the 6.2L from the Raptor to play with. But yeah... Something would be better than nothing.

Or how about a 2013 lightning with the aluminum supercharged 5.8 with 650hp that is going in the new gt500? going back to the first gen lightning with a 5.8????

They would put the EB in long before they would put any kind of V8 in due to EPA gas mileage and CAFE.

I don't see why you would think that, a 6.2 in a single cab short bed that is lowered would get better gas mileage than a raptor. And I would expect a supercharged 5.8 to get similar mileage.

Nope - only trucks over 8500# GVW are exempt - for now. When they raise that - and they WILL - expect to see some kind of EB in the Super Duty. It's the EPA numbers that count, NOT the real world mileage.

Let's see - standard cab short bed with an EB retuned for premium fuel and high end HP, 4.10 gears, a Raptor locker in the rear, and optional AWD?

Being that they just revealed a brand new engine for the 2013 mustang that is a bigger v8 than the previous new engine which was bigger than the 4.6 as well. I don't see them putting a v6 in any performance truck.

Not to mention it could be kind of a specialty vehicle so exemptions could be in play. I hadn't really thought about it but currently, you could buy a 2wd reg cab with a 5.0 which should be decent for a stock truck, no? 350? hp 5.0, Lightnings only had 10-30 more than that so we're moving in the right direction. I do wish the Lightning came back, 500+ horses would be nice.
