I think that if it remains inactive for 60 days it will automatically be deleted.

I said "I think" because I have a couple of free e-mail accounts (one of them hotmail) and I remember one of them stated that after 60 days of inactivity it will be automatically deleted.

I hope this sort of answered your question.
