Pc Updates
Got my Sony Vaio laptop out yesterday to use until my tower is fixed, I don't like Windows 7 on my notepad. The Sony runs on Windows (Me) 2000 & when I go to windows updates it "clicks" & constantly tries to reload (I think) the same page. Sometimes it slows to a stop then starts up again. I know that "me" is well past its prime (like me) but it would be kinda nice to get it somewhat updated. If u open Ie it will run but sites like facebook need a newer version which I am having difficulty finding. It will go to F150 online but says its "unable to create certificate chain from the signing certificate to root" (total b/s to me). Any ideas or do I have to go& get Toshiba out which runs XP, talk about multi tasking!!!
Windows ME was is probably one of the most finicky operations systems, it's not gonna support a lot of stuff of the internet just to load websites. And it was a very popular operating system (it had a very short lifespan) so there isn't too many updates for it either. My advice would either be pull out your computer with XP or load XP onto that one.
Just got back with my tower that was being fixed (but thats another story). Me pc has been put away for now but I guess u are right it needs to be updated to another version of windows but it ain't gonna happen any time soon. I don't car for windows 7 but part of that might be I don't use it enough (I only have it on my Acer notepad) and it would be dumb to install it om my tower before I have to. I like Xp Pro but then I like Me as well. A friend of mine had windows 98 and that was a real pain in the ***.
