If your going to bum the money from anybody, why don't you go bum it from your dad. If he is willing to throw away the $1,500 then he may be an easy mark for the $50.

If you search Thread titles for 'Carfax' you'll find 219 of them dating back to 2004.
The webmaster started locking them in 2006 so, don't take it personal.

 

Take your vin to a car dealer.....they might do it for you.....

Personally I'd just pay and get it done with.......

 

It doesn't matter whether or not a person has a subscription or a spare as you call it. THEY still had to have paid for it, and if they use it to run your vin then they have definitely Bought one for you.
Running a car fax doesn't take a rocket scientist, why don't you just go run it yourself ?

 

I know Exactly what he meant and I don't care how he wants to justify it he is looking for a hand out. He didn't offer to reimburse someone who might have a subscription and were willing to run the vin for him, he wants it for nothing. I applaud him for wanting a car fax before hand, at least he is thinking intelligently on that part but he clearly has access to a computer if getting the vin is that important to him he can very easily run it himself.

 

This part you are correct about, they ( not you ) paid for it.
