F550 wiring?

can anybody point me to some wiring info for an F550? I'm trying to wire a backup camera monitor so that it's only hot when in revearse. the wiring harness come from the rear up under the area of the master cylinder but I can't tell which wire runs the backup lights. any info on wire color or another location to borrow a feed that would be hot when in revearse? Thanks Jim

I have mine wired to the purple wire(I think it's purple) that's hooked up to the transmission.

You can get a book at any auto place on the wiring or try to look it up on the web.

Use that wire as a signal wire only. Make sure you use a relay to supply power to the camera/monitor.

Why not tie it into the trailer wiring harness? The center on the 7 pin is reverse lights.

I have the camera wired to the backup lights at the rear, just hoping to find a feed near the front to tie into for the monitor setting on the dash that would be hot only in revearse. It's a cab chassis with a utility box on it and the wiring transition is behind the fuel tank so I can't see what color wire is coming forward. It's been so wet and muddy on the job site latley I haven't crawled under it again to look into it more, hadn't thought about the wire I'm after may only go as far as the trans. thanks all. Jim
