Moving to Texas
I told the wife, if I buy a house and then get out of the Army, we gotta live in a place where we'd be able to settle down. She wants to move around San Marquis, since it's in the middle of Austin and San Antonio, but no way I can do that. Renting is just expensive around Hood in general, which sucks.

San Marcos...
I'm PCSing to Ft. Hood in a few months, and I'm looking at either renting or buying a house depending on costs there. What is a good, safe place to live at? I hear Killeen is not the place to live. I was told to look at Hawker Heights, Belton, Temple area. Not looking to drive far away, and if the price is right and the neighborhood is good I might just be looking at buying a house.
Thanks. That's the place, real nice driving through it, so I'm sure it's a nice town.
Yeah, I have family in Pfluggerville, and if I ever did get out of the Army, I'd be a cop either in Austin or San Marcos.
Alot of the houses I seen there were in the $180k-$200k+. I don't plan on buying an house more than $160k and 3-4 bedrooms is good enough.
