Down here they're so bad they've been invading the cities like crazy for about 2 years. The state doesn't require us to have a license, permits, etc. Just go kill 'em. I'd head out to a national forest or ask some landowners if you can use their land.

I asked the AGFC about this a while back and they said Fiesenthal (SP) WMA had some of the highest concentrations of hogs on public land. However, the problem with hunting public land is that you can only use a weapon that is legal for the whatever season is open. The way I understand it is that when rabbits and squirrels are the only thing open you are limited to .22 rimfire or shotgun with T shot or smaller. Neither of these are optimal for shooting a pig from very far away.

I'm not sure about the regulations in Arkansas, but here in Georgia there is no season and no limit on how many hogs you shoot. If it is legal to bait them in Arkansas, then you can get deer corn and put it in a bucket with water and yeast and it will start fermenting and get all nasty and the pigs love it. Ask some farmers if you can hunt their land because most of them have problems with hogs eating in their feilds and they are begging hunters to come in and shoot the hogs.

Here's what the AGFC says,

Ferel Hog Regs

The problem on public land is this rule, "Hunters may kill feral hogs on WMAs during daylight hours during any open hunting season. They must use a weapon that is legal for that season."

This means most of the time the .22 Win Mag is the largest rifle you can use legally. For some reason the AFGC believes that every hunter's main goal is to poach deer. They create rules that follow this philosophy and then wonder why they can not get people to kill off the feral hogs. I would like to go on more hog hunts but it's not easy to do on public land.
