i want to upgrade my speakers

help a girl out. if this is the wrong place please move it thanks.
i need to know what i need to look for in a speaker.
all Sean (my hubbie) wants is sound, but i find i need a good sounding system! we went to best buy to have a look. i like the infinitys 5x9 i think?, but Sean wants sonys. my question is as i set here with my drink on witch speakes will rock my world? are there better ones than these for my crew cab? what should i look for in a amp? is a bass tube a good idea or not? i am blond when it comes to speakers and systems, so i ask all you out there. thanks becka

This would be better off in the speaker section, but first things first don't go to best buy everything is highly overpriced. Do you have a budget for the project?

Second thing, if you want actual quality and want it to sound good DON'T get sony, highly over rated and poor output. I also wouldn't go with a bass tube for the price of those you can do a lot better.

Sub wise if your on a budget I'd consider either 1 or 2 ID Max 10's. But also what kind of music do you listen to mostly? Do you want deep bass like in rap or do you want it to be more tight and clean like in rock music?

ID Max are not a budget sub, ID10/12 are the baseline budget subs which are still a very good value (at least before the buyout, not positive now). Look into some HAT Imagines or Morel Maximos for reviews on the type of sound they produce. Try to find a dealer near you to try them out. Get a small 2 channel for the front speakers and a mono amp for the sub

Ah those are the ones I was trying to think of but all I could think of was the max ones. Either way there's a lot of options out there like the ssa dcon series or even the icon series.

I have always used Polk Audio in everything I've ever owned. Clear sound & pretty good bass even without an amp. I haven't added the amp or subs yet still trying to figure out where to put those out of the way of dog feet. & I second everybody on here, BestBuy is way overpriced. Try Crutchfield, I've found them to be reasonable & their customer service is great. Good Luck!

I have a sony cd/radio in my truck & on certain tracks my mirrors can be vibrating. I do not know what speakers my truck has in it but they seem more than capable of handling what I use them for. Just be careful because if u make the sound system to "attractive" it will attract the wrong people & u will not have it for long.
