I did have a 42 Army Jeep, a Commanders Car, and a half track at one time. I finally blew the 4 banger in the Jeep and modded of all things, a Wisconsin V4 engine and put it in the thing. It actually ran better! My running bud has a 43 Jeep with the snorkel on it and we've been in water over the windshield with it. It's not really all that fun though being in water that deep. The Commanders car had a straight 6 flathead Dodge engine that wasn't fast but it seems like it would go just as fast on flat ground as it would straight up. Loads of torque. The half track was just awesome! There wasn't much you couldn't go thru or over. Until you've driven one, you have no clue what a pulling truck can be. I'd match it against anything with tires including tractors. Now a days we have an FC170 cabover and an old ****** wagon, both 1959's, on the place. Both are fabulous 4x4's and not a lot stops them.
