OBD2 code reader
Harbor Freight has a $70 code reader on sale this weekend for $40. It's a pretty decent little unit, it reads manufacturer-specific codes and freeze frame data.

This is a CAN / OBDII reader, so it will work with the newer MY vehicles.
I did not see where it specifically reads B, P, C and U codes.
It talks about them in the general information section about what a DTC is.
This will provide the code, it is not a listing of codes ( which is not a bad thing, most have generic suggestions which do not always apply to a specific vehicle ).
