Need some help

I'm a senior in highschool and im looking into buying another f150 that I can take in te mountains and go hunting.

I'm looking at a 1994 - 1996 extended cab f150 and I planned on lifting it with some fog lights. Is there anything I need to know about them and are there any better models that I should look at. All I'm wanting is a truck j can drive around town and take in the moutains so I don't want to spend to much, at the most 5000. Is that reasonable too ?

Or even a Full size Bronco in that year range.

Only thing I can think of inspecting (besides the 4WD working) is the radius arms and bushings. My Foster kid bought one (Bronco) and had the radius arm (rusted) break while backing out of a parking spot. Lucky for him!

My truck is a 2wd. And even if it was I wouldn't take a nice truck and run in through the woods to get scratched up.

I thought about a jeep but there small and tight fit and I don't like how they are really small. I'm over 6'5 and like a little more room

5 grand could get you a decent 97-03 F-150. The cab, even a standard cab, is a lot roomier than the pre-97's.

if you are going to be in the mountains and trails i would not go with a full size truck or all you will be doing is squeezing it places it shouldn't be. a mid-size vehicle will perform much better. i'd seriously go look at some other vehicles before making a decision with sticking with only ford.

i'm a huge fan of the older toyota's so i'm going to push you a little on them.
toyota is always a good choice for 80's and mid 90's and can be had in your price range. anything 85 and older are straight axle but i know that's pushing the years back and then you have to question reliability. 85+ are efi'd. saying that for 4-5k you can buy a mint 1st gen 4 runner (way i would go personally so you can have more dry storage if needed and if not you can remove the top to have a truck) working on them is stupid simple, i'd try and find one w/ the 22r (if 84 or older) or the 22re (if 85+) and stay away from the 3.0 in any toyota's.

Old Toyotas are indestructible - the Hilux is the choice among terrorists worldwide! The 20 and 22 "R" series engines are probably one of the most reliable 4 banger engines ever made by anyone.
