Cam Phaser Issues????

I am new to the board and have read much about the dreaded cam phaser issues. My problem is, I am not sure if the noise I am hearing is the cam phasers or if I need new Timing chains, guides and tensioners. Most talk about the Cam Phasers having a constant noise, my noise is not constant and often is not even there. I have had two ford techs tell me it is the phasers and I have had two techs tell me it is the hydraulic tensioners, guides and chains. So here is the problem > The truck starts and runs fine until I put it under any kind of load. Then, when the motor rpms start to fall after coming to a stop, I hear a loud slapping/rattle noise like the chains are flapping against the front of the timing cover. I can also do a basic brake stand and then let off the gas and as the motor winds down it makes the noise again. The noise is only there for a few seconds and then it is gone. I give it gas and start going again with no problems until I slow down at the next stop and as the motor winds down it slaps/rattles for a few seconds and is gone again. Sometimes it does not even make the noise and I will drive for days without hearing it and then all of a sudden it comes back. ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHAT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE??
