I don't mind helping someone move, as long as they pay for gas & there are no dents/scratches. But, lending my truck without me driving it, umm not just no but h#ll no!!! I don't even like it when my husband drives my truck without me in it, let alone someone else.

I haven't let my mom drive my truck since she brought my old GMC back with a huge dent in the side that she never offered to fix. She has borrowed my car however and it always comes back with a full tank of gas.
I normally don't get asked to help people move as I live in southern Ga and pretty much everyone has a truck.

I recently helped a friend move and I asked what I would get in return and he said we will get sushi after. So I helped him move all day, later that night we went to sushi. After a couple rolls, saki bombs and $150 later we were stumbling out of the sushi house calling a cab. To say the least I have NO problem helping him out.

This is why the hitch for our fifth wheel resides in the back of my truck all summer and does not come out. Besides all of my friends have truck and I have a fleet at my disposal should I need it.
I'll help people move stuff but everybody around here already knows that I am too cheap to do it for free. I also dont let anyone, not even my dad, to drive my truck when I'm not around. I have one or two friends I let drive it and I have to be present. Mostly because I have to teach someone to drive my truck, especially if it is on the performance tune.

I will help people move but I either snag the van body from work or one of the regular cab 8ft box P/U's instead of my 6.75ft bed truck.
The way I see it, my dad bought me the truck so the least I can do is help people out.
I do as well but if I have a choice of jumping in the bed of my F350 or a half ton Silverado all day I am going to take the POS Silverado from work all the time because 16 years of playing hockey has taken it's toll on my knees.
Normally I dont mind and usually people throw me a few bucks for gas. I hauled a carpet for my aunt and uncle a few days ago.
I really dont have people asking to use my truck. Both of my brother's have one so that helps. I did have to borrow theirs a few times when I didnt own a truck though.

I've only helped one person move some stuff with my old truck to be nice. Drove 150 miles and didn't even get offered a dime for gas. Now with my old truck 170-180 that 16 gallon tank was darn near empty.
I actually had a friend quit talking to me last year because I wouldn't help him move a couch. I worked a 10 hour day and when I got home I did a few things outside then came in to relax for the night. He calls and asks if I can come move a couch for him, I told him no tomorrow I would. He then asked if he can borrow my truck I said no. He threw a temper tantrum and that was the last I talked to him.
So anymore if anyone wants me to move something for them I tell them I can't. Hell, just today someone called and asked if I could take their dog to Petco to get groomed. I said "You have 4 vehicles, use your own" and hung up.
