mitt romney

Ok so mitt, a republican politician at first thought that bailing out the auto industry was a horrible idea is now saying that it was his idea in the first place and that the american people should acknowledge that. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? thanks to the auto bailout thousands of people kept their jobs, GM paid off their debt and chrysler paid back $6 billion yesterday. But mitt romney is now trying to get credit for it? I LOVE how republicans act. They are killing it for themselves. No question that the democrates will take office again in 2012. Btw, did you see the outcome in that new york 26th dist. Election? A strong republican seat now belongs to a democrate and she ran on keeping medicare alive! Good stuff

No thanks, but it's common knowledge GM hasn't yet repaid their loan.

They paid back 6.7 billion back plus 7% interest. But all in all obama did the right thing. Thousands of people kept their jobs and the auto industry is doing great.

You said GM paid off their loan when they haven't. Could, key word you seem to not understand. Do I have to link a definition?

Stop stirring the pot, please.

Big freaking deal, they borrowed $50.7 billion plus another $12.5 billion to GMAC. GM has paid 10% of what I borrowed. My mortgage holder and Ford Motor Credit do not consider that paid back, the IRS does not consider my taxes paid if I only pay 10% of what I owe and if I only paid 10% of my electric bill I would be eating dinner by candlelight. Why should I give GM credit for paying off their loan when they have only paid 10%? What about all the people who had invested money in Gm and GMAC? They got nothing but the shaft, but O'Bama (since he claims he is Irish now) made sure his friends at the UAW got paid.

The bailout did nothing to help GM, it only rewarded them for their years of complacency and mismanagement. Their product line is still lackluster and outdated. Their breakout car Volt is a failure. Their most popular motor was designed in the 1940's! They have bland cars with generic styling and poor build quality. Unless they dramatically rework the company this will not be the only time they get money from the Feds. Remember Chrysler is on their second bailout.

Yes I know it's hard to believe the CEO of GM when he says it could take years for them to pay back taxpayers.
