'The Pacific' series...

Anyone watch The Pacific series yet? I got the collection for Christmas and I've watched it 3 times through already. Great story; makes me even more thankful for what my grandpas and great uncles did for our country. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend it!

I'm about 1/2 way through and although I enjoy it, I think Band of Brothers was much better.

Yea I enjoyed Band of Brothers but really like how the savagery and brutality of the Pacific is brought out. Those guys who fought over there were some tough men. Makes you really respect the guy you see at WalMart or on the street who wears a Guadalcanal patch.

Oh and in disc 4 or 5, having Caroline Dhavernas as 'the girl next door' sure doesnt hurt. She makes me weak...

I'm more partial to Isabel Lucas. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3016604416/nm1456970

I watched most of the series a while back. I enjoyed the show very much. Reminds me of when I was a little kid and I would visit my grandpa. He would pull out a shoe box full of photos and go through them with me. He would tell all kinds of stories about his time in the war..

I loved Band of Brothers. I saw the first Pacific and really liked it but we only had a free trial of hbo/showtime and it ran out before I saw any more. I'll have to see if I can find the dvd set.
