Jamz, Thank you for your service.
A friend of mine that just came back from Afgan land had a very hard time getting into see doctors. He and his wife called daily and finally annoyed someone bad enough to get some help. So as sad as it sounds, just keep bugging the crap out of them.

I feel bad for the vets being treated this way, they joined up to serve there country & this is how they are re-paid!!! Not only that but we are sticking our noses into other countries (where more will be killed etc) & we don't look after those already injured. I wonder how Obama would like a broom handle stuck up his *** & left there because there is no money to do anything about it!!!

Why does a dollar amount determine whether a veteran receives benefits or not? By saying that to a veteran, is like telling a child they have no mother or father. I feel as though my government has turned its back on me, and I don't know who to turn to. Are veterans trash to our government?

What am I to do? How is this right?

Do you qualify for Tricare in any way?

You are elligable for any service they offer, but there is a Means Test that the VA uses to determine your level of coverage (amount of money you'll pay). They rank Veterans into classifications based upon income, hardship, medical history, service related disability, etc. It sounds like you would be in a highly covered catagory based on your income.

One year when I made a lot of money, the coverage at the VA was zippo. Then another year I did horrible and everything was basically free.

Whoever you talked to was an idiot, call them back.

We buried my Pop at Arlington last August. WW11 highly decorated vet.

His destroyer (USS Hoel) was sunk in the Battle of Leyette Gulf in the Philippenes. He spent 72 hours wounded on a 'floater net' waiting for rescue.

He was one of the lucky ones to survive the sinking. Out of a crew of 365 brave souls only 87 were able to abandon ship with 11 dying while awaiting rescue.

He lived to be 86 years old but was blinded and the years after the war weren't kind to his overall health.

As Pop lay dying, one of his last requests was:
"Please don't take me to the VA hospital".

We didn't but instead to him to St. Joseph's in Ann Arbor where he received excellent care until he passed 11 days later.

The VA did stand behind us and finally paid all his expenses even tho the hospital had nothing to do with the US gov't.

The American Government claims of our 'Wounded Warriors' receiving excellent care is pure BS.
