100k miles

it has been accomplished. bought my 2001 F150 4x4 4.6L in november 2007 with 128k miles, now march 2011 i am at 228k.

during those miles, only been in the shop once for a blown spark plug. engine and transmission is stock, and still with the original o2 sensors and maf, with my 87 performance tune i can average 17mpg with "spirited" driving and towing.

today i was able to celebrate 100k by towing 2,000lbs from one side of houston to the other. had about 10 boxes that weighed in at 406lbs and a pallet with 6 - 12" 280's (BIG *** metal flanges) that weighed 1507lbs, my tires were bulging like no other!

It's not over loaded until the tires pop or the receiver touches the ground

Seeing that pic, I initially thought "Holy riding the bump stops!!!", then I realized your truck is lowered and doesn't sit up all that much higher normally.

Congrats on your 100k milestone.

hey that looks like my truck. if your not on the bump stops you still got a couple 1,000 lbs to add. make sure your tires are inflated to pretty much the max PSI when you got alot in the bed.

Congrats on the 100K

when i was at stock height, i had a good 2 truck loads of dirt in the bed that i used to fill up our backyard, had to have been 2500lbs at least! i was on bump stops then too! and that was with 4+" of wheel well gap.
