Great story, but hard to believe there is any real safety issue here (no accidents or fires to date).

IMO, the manufacturers must LIKE to have recalls...It gives a whole bunch of brand loyal customers a chance to visit the dealer, bring their cars in for service, buy accessories or new cars, etc...

This story just proves they will issue a recall for ANYTHING.
