It never stops amazing me why people do not understand why the remainder of the world hate the US.

The people in Libya have been living under a control freak that was a captain and took over the country.
The are lucky to have running water ( no mention if it is clean ) and on every 4th day they might have electricity.
They hold a party at the end of the month if nobody in the family dies from a stray round or a simple infection that there is no where to go to have it looked at.

Some like to compare this to teachers who are protesting having to pay more than 5% into a pension that will pay them from retirement age ( 55 in WI ) to the day they die, along with health care.
Mind you it was almost cold out and they got paid to do it as a "sick day".
At 4:30, it is time for the teacher to climb into their car, and drive home through a secure street with working traffic control to a house that not only has heat, but lights, high speed internet and 575 channels of High Def cable.

Sure, I can see the similarities in the two examples....

This is a broad brush stroke.
This sounds like the government is wanting to shut down a protest from UPS or UAW.

The correct statement would be Government paid labor protests = { answer here }

They are allowed to protest all they want, but this close down the government system, while getting paid ( i.e. holding the tax payers hostage yet again ) to do it has to go.

UPS ( Teamsters ), UAW, Caterpillar's union, etc are not using taxpayers money to protest. They can protest all they want in my opinion.

Ever notice when the ALPA ( pilots union ) gets ramped to go on strike, the federal government steps in and gives them a cooling off period prior to going on strike.
Here is the government taking action in a non tax payers union action, why would they not take action with this closing down a government system ? Yes that is a rhetorical question, we all know why he is staying quite on this one, votes.
