Behind the scene, WARNING! Picture Heavy.

Yes,..... I know,..... most of you have seen pictures of the finish product when I finished remodeling my house about 2 years ago and a few of you have seen it in person. Since I've been organizing my picture's files and folders, I though I'd share with you what went behind the scene to create what most describe as a master piece.

For those of you who don't mind, I'll also be posting some more behind the scene of the Pea**** doors, (darn I can't even say peac ock in here!) music room, dinning room and buffet area. For those of you who mind, please don't click on my threads, thank you.

At any rate, I wanted to brush up on my ignorance so instead of going to the library I built myself a one.

Once upon a time I stared at this area and...aaa..........nothing came to mind. But I knew it would come to me so I took the last picture before tearing it down.

Poof! Gone!

After I created and built the vaulted ceiling I stood back and thought..........hmmmm.......to the right, double doors, is the entrance to our master bedroom. I can build an L shape wall to create privacy. Now the space to the left......hmmm........what can we do....................?

But later in the week it came to me............A LIBRARY!!!......Yeah!!!!.......that sound like a good Idea!

And so I pictured it with an arched entrance and fluted columns and a coffered ceiling.

Never built a coffered ceiling in my life but I thought I'd give it shot.

My first ever, coffered ceiling.

And so I began to add the color

Finished and installed it.

I also built my own cabinets and started preparing to install the columns.

I built the necessary boxes and supports and placed the columns to see what it would look like.

Then prep them to paint it white.

I also wanted to bridge left and right wall cabinets together with a decorative raise panel wall.

So I started creating something like this:

And installed:

I also designed and created my own crown molding to finish off the cabinets.

Can you come to my house and do that for free? Please?

I'll include some beers...

In all seriousness, it looks awesome!

leo, you should do a video tour of your house, the library alone doesnt do the rest of the house justice, your entire house is a piece of art

although, im not too sure if it is the safest thing to put on the internet (a video describing the inside of your house)

That looks amazing, OG!

You definitely have an eye for carpentry! I would easily pay for something of that nature.

Yeah, I've thought of doing that but I'm waiting for my friend from Vermont to come visit us cause he is an excellent narrator, he majored in interior decoration. He uses words like, "and here is a velvet curtain that puddles on the floor.......

Thanks for your concern by the way but no, I don't have a problem describing the things I have in the house, secret drawers lead to crackerjack jewelry anyway.
