I Heard Something go, ((((((BOOM))))))!!!
So, I started a project the other day of a kitchen cabinets re-stain for one of my customers. As my 2 workers and I were removing the kitchen cabinet doors. One of a sudden we hear a boom! We were like What the hell was that! Went out side cause we thought a vehicle or something came crashing into the house but nothing, went around the back yard to see if any fallen trees cause we were having the Santa Ana winds but nothing.
Went around the other side by the patio area and found this:
We were all like :wtf?:
So I immediately called the customer and told him, Huston we have a problem! your house is literally coming down. He was like, "what do you mean my house is coming down?" I explained the situation and he came running down to see what I was talking about. He was like and asked me if I can fix it. I said, relax, take it easy and don't worry, I'll take care of it.
So I went to Home depot and got the material necessary to support the roof.
After removing the stucco I took big foot and chopped off to find a good spot to anchor a new Simpson tie down.
What had happen was that water has been settling in the enclosed area creating dry rot.
Lucky the other column didn't give way.

Got the second column done the other day.
This time I was a lil more clever and poured the column's decorative base all at once.
And finished the decorative base on the other one too.
I let it cure for like a week then removed all the supports and secured the last column then stuccoed it to finish them off.

This is the kitchen I'm working on.
The fellow recently bought the house and is still in the process of moving in so bear with me for the mess scattered all over the place.
View from the living room.
The kitchen Island
Refrigerator doors are hideous.
Included in the bid I'll be re-staining the Bar, laundry, and 1 small cabinet in one bathroom.
Bar area
Laundry
OH.... and NO I don't feel guilt charging him $5,000 for this project I believe he can afford that and more. Cadillac SUV is parked outside, he takes his luxury benz to work and his weekend car stays in the garage.
LOL. kidding bout not feeling guilty I believe to the best of my knowledge I gave him a fair price cause it would be the same price I would give someone who was struggling to get a loan to pay for the project.

Thanks for the compliments.
Yeah the fellow moved to this area cause his business is about 10 minutes from where I live too. He use to live about an hour away B4 but says his business has been well established now an loves the area the business is locate, reason he bought this house about 2 months ago and the commute is a lot better now, he says.
He does metal fabrications; he says his best customer is K&N; does all the metal work for K&N's filters.
