I have windows 7 but use my comcast email....so can't help you there. I have dabbled in Windows Live and can say I didn't like it too much.

I use outlook at work and like it...but they are also running Windows XP

A free download called windows live mail! It will take a little to get used to, but it works great.

if you have multiple email accounts, I recommend spending money and getting msft outlook otherwise mozilla thunderbird is a very solid free product.

On my Win 7 I'm running Outlook and Gmail and Hotmail... All seem to be working good. Personally I would use Outlook or Gmail. I don't even think I'd mess with the windows live

I use Thunderbird as well to access my E-Mail. I have it set up with 4 Gmail accounts and 2 accounts on domains that I own.

Windows Live Mail is actually pretty good. I still prefer Outlook 2007 right now.

Windows Live is okay if you only have one account. If you have multiple accounts use Outlook or Thunderbird. This assumes you actually want to use an e-mail client and not just webmail.

Must say I have been in a bit of a rush doing all this, looking at the posts you guys are saying that you have to pay for Outlook now,is that why it didn't come bundled on the software package.

Outlook has always been commercial software - it's part of Office. You are thinking of Outlook Express which has been discontinued and replaced with Live.

I thought Windows Live Mail replaced Windows Mail.
