Well its just an option man. You can always pass it down to someone.
Rifles are just a real big purchase because after you get done outfitting it you can easily have more than a 1000 bucks in it. So you just have to be absolutely certain what you want. .270 is a great caliber and a Remmy 700 is an equally great gun. Now you just have to pick the model that is right for you.

The show I saw on the unintentional discharges claimed there was a defect in the design that was built in from the original models for decades. The show interviewed the original designer. Remington never recalled them because they could not afford it.
