How about those rolling blackouts. Power went off in the shop this morning for about an hour. Almost had the boss convinced to send us home. Then the power came back on. Back to work!

I guess they are doing these blackouts to ease the stress on the power grid.

I don't think we'll get any here, fire station down the street is on our grid.

The deal with it is some power plants went offline last night in Texas unexpectedly, the state lost 10% of it's supply, no the rolling outages are a conservation measure. I heard this on the local media.

Luckily I'm off till Friday, so me and my baby girl are staying warm and cozy inside. Would be kinda cool if it snowed here, I'm 25 and the last time we got snow that stuck was before I was born.

If you can't tell, he is pulling his buddy (who is holding onto the wing of the Charger) around on the ice. Real smart.
They are driving a dodge...

That is awesome

You mean snow lasted more than 10 minutes in Texas once upon a time?

I'm not worried or cold. I've got backup battery power for lights, water/air heating (propane ignition) and the radio. I've also got coveralls for hunting. Was walking around running errands today and got plenty of funny looks from the "fashion sense" college kids...they were also the ones freezing their butts off though.

I can only imagine the old geezers driving around Lockhart with ice covering the roads.

I'm trying to stay out of it as much as possible, but yeah everyone forgets how to drive in the rain so it's going to be interesting to see them drive in ice. My dogs outside water bowl has been frozen since yesterday. She looks at it and looks at me like WTF?!?

I've been really confused. I'm seeing more cops, emergency vehicles and wrecks and there hasn't been any ice on the roads! Then everything is closing down because of 26 degree weather. During the rolling blackouts I understand, computers and (everyone else's) heaters dont work when there is no electricity, but those are over. I wish it would rain or sleet, or after hell freezes over, snow so that I would actually see a reason for the chaos. Once people are sliding around we can see natural selection at work.

I do laugh because I look around and I see everyone humped up and miserable because they are cold...meanwhile I'm plenty happy in my warm tan coveralls. I say let the fashion police freeze their butts off!
