Need a lawn mower.

Anyone got a lawnmower they want to sell. i want at least a 54" cut. I like the zero turn. Been debating on getting a small tractor/finish mower with front end loader also for snow on the drive, ive got a long lane and a couple horses too. So maybe i could fart around with that too. Any idears...you all know almost everything else ive needed to know. thought id try this, maybe what you have owned and had good luck with or are currently running now???

I have used a New Holland 25d compact utility tractor extensively. Its pretty small, 4wd is awesome. Diesel is a nice strong 3 cyl. It's now about 13 yrs old and only has about 300 hrs on the meter, but it has always performed well. The loader is extremely handy for many uses. I have even done some light excavating and grading with it. Priced a little lower than a comparable John Deere. Just throwin that out there.

I use a JD x520 to mow around the yard and clear snow with a blade. A loader is not available with one that small though. You'd have to step up to an X700 series. (even have pics in my albums of my weekend toy) :-)

Talking about the New Holland. I had right at 2 acres I wanted cleared off and it was probably going to take me an afternoon with the neighbors 955L. I had a friend come by with a New Holland 30 with a bucket and a back hoe on it, brand new on the trailer to show me. He said he'd clear the acres for two hundred bucks. It'd cost me that much in fuel for the neighbors Cat. For such a small tractor, it did a lot of work and quick too. Took him about 4 hours. He was happy with his tractor and I was happy not having to fool with it. If a compact tractor is what yer lookin' for, look at the New Hollands. They do a lot of work for a small unit. If you like resto looking equipment, they now have a 8N Ford resto tractor that they call the Boomer that looks like a neat unit.

I've got a BX2200. It's a great little tractor. I like the fact that it so compact, but has big tractor features. I got the optional 60" deck as shown. I just want to get the Woods BH600 backhoe for it.

I'd say go for diesel if you can afford it.

Speaking of goats, I wonder where our resident goat herder is have not seen him lately.

I would go with anything made by Deere, good quality and dealer network. You could always call the local Deere dealer and see what a new one is worth and go from there.

Be careful buying John Deere lawn equipment. They don't make any of the non-commercial mowers, they farm out the units to MTD mostly. The same company that makes Sears. LOTS of plastic parts on some of them and some are just plain crap when new. Might check over at tractorbynet before buying.
