Newton going pro.

So, with Bama losing Ingram, Auburn losing Newton, Florida with a new coach, that pretty much leaves LSU as the only SEC legit title shot next year. TCU?

All of these guys will have to take a huge pay cut to go from playing in college and moving to the NFL!!! Got to love the NCAA.

I wonder if Cecil will be sCam's agent... Didn't work out too well for them in college... Good riddance I say.

TCU won't be in the running next year. Dalton is a senior and they will be losing their star quarterback. But it was a fun ride this year!

I'll assume that the NFL will accept sCam like they did Vince Young- not very well. Just because they can play college football doesn't mean the successes will follow them into the NFL. I think his ego will be his downfall. I look at him and see Terrel Owens all over- a problem child with a smattering of talent. Not all Heismann Trophy winners are great in the NFL. Take Ty Detmer, 1990 winner. My girls played with him as children. He comes from a great family and his dad is a coach in Texas. Now I'll bet yer saying- Who? He was a wonder on the field playing college ball but never had any impact in the NFL. Frankly, his brother Coy had better success in the NFL. I look for Mr Cam to be humbled and I hope it's soon.

Well as a closet Panther fan, I am super-psyched we have a chance to get a REAL quarterback who can move with the ball and ease some pressure off our receivers. However, I won't be surprised if we trade our first round pick for 3 third round picks.

Glad that $Cam is gone. At least now he can have legitimate direct deposit for his paychecks.

And forget him being what all the folks say he can be on the next level. NFL D's will destroy him as a runner (which he won't get to do), and expose him as the so-so passer he is (college DBs and S might bite on his play fakes, but NFL DBs and S will pick him off with ease).

In short, glad he's out of the SEC, and confident of the fact that he won't really do much at the next level. Sucks for all the folks with their hand out waiting for help from his NFL payday.

I remember Ty Detmer!
And yeah, he won't do much at the next level.

I'll begin saying my prayers that my beloved Vikings don't draft him -- for some reason, Minnesota has a bizarre love affair with mobile college quarterbacks who have no intellectual aptitude for the game at the NFL level......

I know exactly what you mean. I've been a Panthers fan since they came to Charlotte. For some reason the 1 win season several years ago didn't seem as bad. I knew we would draft Julius Peppers and things would start to improve. Now, I'm not sure where the franchise will go. Jerry Richardson is single handedly sucking the life out of the Panthers. Even if they draft a decent player, Richardson won't pay him. If Richardson does, he will not resign any of our free agents. Richardson has to be the tightest owner I have ever seen.

I really hope the Panthers don't draft $cam. They will never get the contract signed. Auburn paid him more than Richardson ever will.

On a side note, I hope John Fox wins the next 10 Superbowls with the Broncos just so he can tell Richardson to stick it.

It was so cold last week Cecil Newton was seen with his hands in his own pockets.

Not like he'd make the Lions suck any more than normal.
