Blackberry storm 2
Blackberry storm 2
Anyone here have one?
I have a tour right now, but my sister needs a phone cause her finesse is busted and I want a new blackberry.
My tour works great, and she wants a good texting/net phone and to be honest I have tired the HTC and Driod as well as the milestone and none of them (imo)compare to my tour or the storm 2 I been messing with.
My tour works great, but I can get a good deal on a storm 2 and that way I don't have to sign a new contract. in 6 months ill be ooc.
Sister has good phone that have great text/email/internet features.
Sure it lacks the apps like the Driod has and the milestone, but its a (imo) better texting phone and I like the browser better.
And shes not really into all those games.
FB/MS works great on my tour and emails as well. Blackberry messenger is a must have now, way better than google talk (again IMO) or anything else.
So, anyone have a bold (its a tour with a touch pad not a ball) or a storm 2?
Ive been testing a storm 2 and I really like it so far.
Touch screen is great, took a day or so to get used to it, I can almost match typing speed of the tour and i like how the screen has a two touch level.
soft highlights/scrolls ect, while hard is selects/pick w/e.
Its a bit heavy though, and so far the battery life is good. Wi-FI at my house is great as well.
Thoughts?

I've had a Storm2 since shorty after they came out. I don't have any real complaints about it other then how the screen physically pushes down and clicks when you type on it. Actually, that reminds me, I had to return my first Storm2, as the screen would stick sometimes when typing. That was apparently a common issue and maybe only happened to the early editions of the Storm2. The one I've had now has been great. However, it's tough to compare this phone to the new phones that are out now. My buddy just got a new BB (can't remember the name, torch, flame thrower, etc) and his looks similar to my Storm2, but his has a slide out keypad AND it's touch screen. He also has the newer OS, which I cannot get on my older Storm2. The new OS looks to be a lot nicer.
Anyway, if you can get a good deal on the Storm2 then I'm sure it will be a great phone for the cost. The main thing I noticed is a lot of people hate how the touch screen acts. Even people with touch screen phones can't stand my phone.

I get upgraded in 27 days thru Verizon and I think I want my next BB to have a slide out keyboard like your pal has.
The letters and numbers on the touch screen are just too small for my kosher dill pickle fingers.
The 'New every Two' is supposed to end with the intro of the iPhone. Maybe sooner?
Existing customers get one more upgrade and it won't be offered to new customers.

Aw man I hope not! Actually I just hope they keep the buy one get one free option. That's what my wife and I did with these Storm2's....
If you can wait just a little longer you can get your hands on this!

Go to the Verizon site and read some of the reviews on the Storm2.
They aren't very favorable..............
I think I'm ditching my Storm and not buying another RIM product.
My contract with Verizon is up in a couple of weeks and I'm gonna look into something different.
The Storm was my first RIM device and pretty sure it's my last.
For the last month or so, I'm having to pull the battery at least once per day and it's a pain.
RIM has been riding high on their past accomplishments and getting left behind in the Smartphone market.

The battery pull is annoying and is pretty much a must do on frequent occasions. I downloaded an app called quick pull. It simulates a battery pull and you can schedule it. I have mine reset every morning at 4am.
HAHA I guess you haven't heard that they did cancel the new every two program, now you just get to pay full price when you upgrade, or wait the full two years and only get the price reduced by the two year contract price.

Ive got a storm 2 and I hate it. It freezes up every so often and since I have a otter box I have to take the whole case off to get to the battery. Also sometimes the internet decides not to work and also texting will sometimes lock up.
Go into Blackberry App world and find an app called restart me it simulates the battery pull I have it on my phone and I restart the phone at least once a week. I also have an Otter Box and it's the only way to go.
never had those issues with my tour (had it a year, got it used), and now that I have the storm 2 I love it.
likely the best phone I have owned.
Touch works great, service is great, the evdo/net browser is great. wi-fi works good.
typing is a breeze.
surfing the net is easy and fast too!
