How do you secure a screw in a Socket

While removing/replacing the instrument cluster I had the darnest time getting the screws back in place. I had to use a socket with an extension but since my "angle of attack" was down hill the screws kept falling out of the socket. I ended up using tape to hold the screw in the socket until I got the screw where it needed to go. I was wondering what technique others use to secure the screw/bolts in a socket?

I will sometime wedge a small piece of paper between the bolt and socket. I could also see a small dag of grease for small screws and nuts.

Magnetic nut driver, magnetic screw driver or just take your screw driver and dip the tip in grease and the screw with normally stick if it's small.

I use electrical tape wound around with the sticky side out.

small layer of plastic, like a sandwhich bag will hold the bolt snugly. Also make sure you're using the correct size socket as well.

Start chewing Gum ... will also hold a bolt while you go to other side and gently put the nut on
