Someone should tell Ms. McCarthy that the thinking behind gun control is as asinine as thinking that we should outlaw alcohol because approximately 12,000 people are killed every year because of drunk drivers. Lunatics.

True, all we got from Prohibition was gun control and organized crime.

“The ability to buy a weapon that fires hundreds of bullets in less than a minute,” said Quigley. “He had an additional magazine capability. That’s not what a hunter needs. That’s not what someone needs to defend their home. That’s what you use to hunt people.”

I'm pretty sure that the majority of gun owners don't have weapons that shoot that many rounds but if I'm protecting my home and family I would want that!

Pretty much any semi-auto pistol will carry 12-15 rounds.

With very little training, it takes just a few seconds to swap mags. So weather if someone has a 30 round mag, or a 15 round mag, it makes no difference.

There is also such a thing known as speed loaders for revolvers....

The fact of the matter is, any gun laws are unconstitutional.

Well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

That has nothing to do with hunting, or protecting one's home from intruders, it's so the people can fight the government in times of war. With the government putting more and more restriction's on gun/weapons, it takes away the American citizens ability to over through a corrupt government if the time ever comes.

in California we're stuck to 10 round mags but I agree it doesn't take that long to swap. Also if someone criminally insane or just looking to murder someone, breaking the law by using high cap mags won't be their concern.

"oh darn, I can only put 10 rounds in my magazine. I better not go on that killing spree today."

I own guns and support people's right to do so. However we do need some laws to regulate ownership and access. To say all gun laws are unconstitutional is an over reach.

I think gun buyers should have to take classes on gun safety and operation. A good psych evaluation wouldn't hurt either. Felons shouldn't have weapons either.

Making various weapons illegal is senseless as the bad guys aren't going to give up their weapons.

First let me say I agree and support 100%. Unfortunately the leaders of the past had a different mindset than the current ones. This country was once run by the people for the people (with some needed oversight - which is OK). What would happen to any person or persons who attempted to overthrow the government now, regardless of the situation at hand?

If they would enforce the current laws already on the books this wouldn't have happened. You can make all the laws you want its not going to change anything.

It will only change things for people that follow the law, people who commit murder are not following the law and there for don't give a damn if they are supposed to have a semi auto or full auto weapon, or if that weapon has a 15 round magazine or a 30.
