Of course, it goes without saying what we "keep" and what we "discard" is a point of conjecture here and usually the root of all debate.

I think the point was, and I agree, that there sure are some narrow minded viewpoints on here, that never admit that anyone sharing their views has ever been wrong about anything.

+1 and I'll add that there is no reason for anyone to call for the "shooting" or "death" of anyone. I personally don't agree with much that comes out of the Democratic party, but I don't wish bodily harm on any of them.

What irks me is to see the MSM politicize the death of people. And there is no doubt that is exactly what has happened since the shooting. Trying to align a lone madman/wicked person with any political group is wrong and each individual should stand trial for their crimes without punishing the vast majority.

Now we can all just wait and see what new laws and Acts Congress may try to pass that will take more of our freedoms away. Most gun laws that are currently on the books are not even properly enforced.

We're all missing the point, anyway, it's not political, it's because of his music!

+1000. I don't wish death upon anyone I disagree with either. No sane human should.

This is my beef with the whole ordeal. The fact that CNN, MSNBC, NYT and all the others were blaming this on Palin and the Tea Party before there was any evidence. Some guys on CNN were doing it within minutes of it being reported, before we even knew any facts to support such a accusation. They were just planting the seed I guess. Bringing up the Palin target map endlessly but conveniently forgetting to mention the two maps by the DLC. Talking about all the hate from the right but ignoring all the hate from the left. This tragedy exposed the media for what it is and most of the public is wising up to it as the dust settles from this weekend.

Hey Habibi, is Ft. Hood the same or different from the Arizona shootings?

CNN also reported something about the government paying for his education, so I'm wondering if it's one of those deals where he is instantly given the rank of Major?

We have RMC in my city (The Royal Military College of Canada) which is like your guys Westpoint. RMC has very high standards for admission, and every graduate is automatically an Officer upon graduation.

I wonder if this guy went through a simular type of deal where the US Army paid for his education and gave him the title "Major" upon graduation.

There's still so many details unanswered; especially if he acted alone.

I mean what the heck do you do?, and how do people not get nervous and uptight, especially after something of this magnitude happening right on a US base.

To say it's a delicate and complication situation is an understatement.
If I were a Muslim in the US military, I'd be changing my name to "Rick James", getting a tattoo, and maybe an earring to boot. What a messed up situation.
So when people say things like:

Israel must be wiped off the map.

Thanks to Hitler, of blessed memory, who on behalf of the Palestinians, revenged in advance, against the most violent criminals on the face of the earth… his revenge on them was not enough.

All weapons must be aimed at the Jews, the enemies of Allah…, whom the Koran describes as monkeys and pigs, … idol worshipers.

The ruling to kill the Americans and allies… is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it...

who do YOU condemn?

More and more keeps coming out about Mr. Loughner. He was a fan of Nietzsche (Mr. "God is dead") and his book "The Will To Power". Couple this with his fav's such as "Mein Kampf" and "The Communist Manifesto" (where I am sure he got his nihilistic opinions), and you've got one wicked brew.

I know, I know. It is extremist and outrageous to hold such antiquated thoughts, much less share them on a public forum. Yet there it is.
