Ice age coming!

So much for global warming. This guy in England with a first class degree in astrophysics has been getting the weather right for years now including the current cold weather effecting the globe. He says that according to his research of the patterns of the sun and historic weather records, we are headed into a mini ice age. For those not aware, Australia now is enjoying their summer....mid summer to be more exact...and they are having record snow falls. That's like us having record snow falls in July. Here's the linkys:

Oh wait! I forgot, Al Gore said this wasn't possible....never mind.

It's a religion. No matter what the science says, there is a way for someone to twist it in support of their views. If we do enter into a mini ice age, some will say that "man-made" Global Warming was the trigger for it. Michael Moore will make a movie, and anybody with an independent dissenting thought will be labeled a heretic... I mean... A moron.

Those of you old enough to remember, didn't we go through this in the late 60's and early 70's? It was all over Life, Look, and Time mag.!

Guess it's time to dust off the old bell bottom pants and tie dyed shirts!

Yup. It was a big deal when I was in grade school. We strung together a few bad winters, and scientists (And I use the term loosely.) predicted an impending Ice Age.

Yeah, I remember some magazine covers, as well as books in my high school library about the coming ice age.

By the mid to late 1980's, the 'scientific consensus' had shifted to global warming, and it was like the ice age talk had never occurred.

Some of us sooner, some of us later, but yeah that pretty much sums it up.

The "experts" can't even predict the weather accurately more than 24 hours ahead of time in the Atlanta area.

That is correct. In early-mid 70s we were all going to die because of global cooling.

The thinking was that even though there were plenty of ice ages in the past, this time was different because the average temps were higher than previous ice ages. The only reason such an anomaly could exist was because of man. (The only part of the equation that didn't exist in all the previous ice ages).

There were articles and news stories about our impending doom.

Here's a story in Time (1974) about global cooling and the next ice age.

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...4914-2,00.html

Somewhere between then and now, it got warmer which, of course, meant that there was global warming . . . which was man made and going to kill us all.

That's the way it always has to be. If there's no doom and gloom there's no story.

The next in the cycle will be a return of the ice age. The story line will go something like this:

There really was global warming. It really was man made. But man's evil treatment of the planet is SOOOOOO bad that it actually caused an inverse cycle that led to global cooling and an impending ice age. Such things can not naturally happen that quickly without some sore of external influence. That's how they'll justify the hype and continue to milk expensive programs that desperately need to be funded. There's no reason to fund such things if they are natural phenomena.

So, get ready for the next ice age.

Guess it's time to dust off the old bell bottom pants and tie dyed shirts!
What do you mean dust off? Some of us never stopped wearing them. Like over-hyped weather phenomena, eventually everything returns, especially styles. We were just ahead of the curve.
