Not a chance in hell. I mean, it might be somebody's future, but not mine.

I follow the same rule myself. Don't want one that happens to be venomous to get to my dog. Plus everyone else seems to freak out if they see one. Dead snake just seems easier.

Oh and if it was in your driveway: Why not just tell the wife to run it over a couple times if it hasn't moved all day?

My guess is it is D-E-D dead, or soon to be. As cold as it is now if you picked it up it would be like picking up a rope. Tell her to just scoop it up with a shovel, even if it moves it won't be any faster than Habb's wit!

There are only three kinds of snakes I don't like,

Live ones

Dead ones

Sticks that look like 'em and I've killed a lot of sticks.

However as has already been pointed out, that snake was harmless and about 9/10 dead when it was discovered. Do the world a favor and contribute the last 1/10th.

My dog hates snakes, good thing we don't have venomous ones around here because when she sees one she will hunt it down and kill it.

Several years ago we had a 7 year old boy and his family living next door to us. One day he comes running over to our house wanting me to come over, they found a snake and his mom wanted to know what it was. I went over and discovered a garter snake in their flower bed. The little boy says to me, "can you catch it?" I figured, being a 7 year old boy, he wanted to hold the snake so I reached down and picked it up and held it out to him. That little boy let out a shriek, and ran away screaming. I'd never run into a little boy who didn't like snakes before. When I was growing up I used to help my cousins catch garter snakes and terrorize my older sister with them because she screamed so nicely!

We get some rather large milk snakes up on our property, I don't kill them, just pick them up with a shovel and release them in the bushes by the forest that borders our property.

They serve their purpose, help keep the rodent population down.

I'm not crazy about snakes but live and let live and all that stuff.
