GasGuzz
GasGuzz
Hi guys,
I have decided to write an app that many here may find useful.
The app is called GasGuzz. It is essentially an app that will allow users to keep track of fuel mileage and money spent on gas. It will probably also allow for adding service records and modifications additions. The goal of the app is to calculate the user's total cost of ownership.
I will update you guys when the app is available. It will be accessible via Android, Windows Phone 7, and iPhone initially. Blackberry may become an option down the road.
Thanks!
-Matt

fuelly only accounts for gasoline costs. This would also allow for maintenance, modification, and track if those things have an effect on mileage.
plus, fuelly lacks an app for the various platforms, making you use a very limited web based interface... leaves alot to be desired.
as for the programming languages: Android - Java, iPhone - Objective C, WP7- VB.net / Silverlight, Website / Web services - VB.net / ASP.NET, each are going to be developed independently in their respective IDEs.

Sounds fun. What IDEs do you use? Visual Studio, Eclipse?
I'm still on Windows Mobile 6.5. I've been holding out and waiting for Verizon to pick up Windows Phone 7 or a 4G phone before I upgrade this phone.
If you want to port it to 6.5, I'd be happy to test it out on there. I have an android phone and an ipad I can test it out on as well.

Android uses Eclipse, iPhone uses XCode, and Windows Phone uses Visual Studio 2010... so it'll be alot of switching between my Windows PC and MacBook... I really wish Apple let us build iPhone apps on a PC, that would make my life easier. The 15" screen on my MBP is not large enough to do hard core dev on.
