Epic 4G or EVO 4G?
I heart my EVO. I just realized that a buddy of mine has an EPIC. I was playing with it this weekend. Didn't even know it was an EPIC til now, when I just googled it. It was smaller than the EVO. I liked how it had a keyboard, but thought my EVO had more/better apps, like the clock/weather combo. He was really jealous of that...

Just got an Epic a few days ago...love it!...the screen is friggin awesome...and i do like the keyboard because the on screen one is a bit small for my big clunky fingers...this phone does alot of stuff and im still figurin it out...
I use my Hero for as a modem on the road, and have been wanting to upgrade to a 4G phone. I'm just waiting for more areas to have the Sprint 4G coverage. LA for example. The EVO is nice, but I might go with Epic. The screen on the Epic, while slightly smaller is supposed to have better picture quality.
Neither.
Wait a few months until HP intros new hardware for WebOS2 (and I don't mean the Palm Pre 2, which is crap . . . I mean the new stuff which should be around end of first quarter '11).
(or, pray that Verizon doesn't lock up the iPhone on the CDMA side of things . . . although it looks like they're going to).

I have the Evo. Its nice, but I prefer the samsung which the epic features. I'm not a fan of HTC's sense, but that is personal preference
The main difference is that the epic has a keyboard, and the evo doesn't.
Seriously though, wait for an Android 2.3 device. Otherwise, get the Evo, because it at least has 2.2. I believe the epic is still waiting for 2.2, which could not happen til March (around the time the Evo might get 2.3)

If you want a phone with a large dev community (ie more apps) stay as far away from WebOS as possible. If you want a phone that can do apps without the restrictions placed on it by one Steve Jobs get an Android device.
Wait until an Android 2.3 device comes out for Sprint, or switch to T-Mobile and get the Nexus S.
