I didn't realize that so many members here where religious.

But, nothing wrong with that.

I personally do not care, everyone has to die eventually. Some (sadly) sooner than others.

That's just a part of life.

Don't worry about it guys, to be honest I have been hearing the "end is near" from my religious parents and friends/coworkers for years, and so have my parents from the same source.

I would like to point this out.
According to the bible, Jesus clearly states the people standing in front of him, and that generation will see the end of days.

Now, I am just pointing this out, don't get mad, this is just what I have learned from the reading and researching I have done.

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. "Learn a lesson from the fig tree. The end is always coming. I bet there are several deadlines set by people each year. Some get press some don't. When the end comes will it really matter.
We could get slammed by an asteroids tomorrow. We had one pass within the orbit of the moon just weeks ago. No one saw it until it was about 20 hours away.
It was bigger than the one that slammed Siberia one hundred years ago.

People will say anything to get their ten minutes of glory, even if they end up looking like idiots.

Exactly how I look at it, Tumba.

My problem is (for example)if we got or were about to get smoked by a life-destroying meteor, you can bet all the religious will be jumping up and saying "I told you so! The end is here!". The religious can't accept that things happen that are out of anyone's control.

Do you think Dinosaurs had religion(s)? They say it's a one in a million chance that earth was hit by the meteor that killed off the dinosaurs and made way for human life. Perhaps over the last days of the last of the dinosaurs, they were all proclaiming about the sins of the Dinosaurs. And how the great bronciosauras in the skies was here to take them to hell!

The Bible says there is more than one anti-Christ in many forms. I think the generations means mankind, it's in metaphors.
When God says it's the end, it's the end, there's nothing any of us can do, so I wouldn't worry about it. Your time may end, and if you aren't right with God when it does, you're in the same boat as everyone who isn't right with God when the world ends. That's what you need to worry about, where you stand with God, not the world.
