PayPal Question

Not starting a PayPal thread, just have a specific question about a particular feature.

If someone sends me money using the "Personal" tab on the send money page, no one pays a fee, correct? And then if my account is verified (I don't have the $500 mo withdrawal limit) then I can withdraw that money or transfer to a bank account without paying any fees as well...is that also correct?

Pretty comfortable with PayPal just never used this particular feature.

You are correct on the Personal Payment option.

As for the verified account, you will still have a $500 monthly limit, as least I myself do even though I'm verified. But regardless of your account verification, there are no fees to pay whenever you withdraw money to you bank account. I do not know about getting pre-paid cards or checks, however.

paypal, loves me. They gave me a $1,500 credit limit and I didn't even ask, I also have a paypal business card, that I never use. It uses paypal funds first, then defaults to my bank.

Anyway, yeah there are no fees that way.

For example lets say you have a paypal account tied to your bank account. and I send you $150.
You can transfer that to your B.A (it takes 2-5 days) or if you have a paypal card you can use it like a credit card, or at the atm.
At least thats how mine works.

Yea, that's what I've got. I've got the business card also and use the crap out of it because I always end up with so much money in my PayPal account. I do 99% of my TimeSert business through PayPal, so I end up just using my business card for normal purchases off of that balance instead of transferring it to my normal bank account.

However, here recently, one of my requested the possibility of using PayPal to pay the rent. I initially said no because I didn't want to pay 3% of $1,600 each month for their convenience, but have since learned about the personal tab. Never used it so just trying to make sure it would work for both of us.

If they pay using a credit card, you get stuck with the fee. I don't know how much it is though.

Theres only no fees if you pay with your Paypal balance or from your bank account. If you pay with a credit or debit card then its like a 3% fee.
The only problem with paying as a gift is liability issues. So if anything goes wrong with shipping the buyer might have some problems (I think).

Don't you have a checking account with a semi-major bank that supports online bill pay? US Bank (the bank I use) has a bill pay feature that allows me to send money without any fees. Its just a 3 day wait time for the check to be cut and mailed. Personally, I hate PayPal. If it weren't for having to have it to buy stuff on eBay, I would avoid it like the plague

No dude, I need to receive the money, not send or pay bills. I've been using PayPal for years and years now, and quite often...not just a transaction here or there...have have had nothing but the best of results. Any problem I've had with PayPal has been minor at best and was easily dealt with quickly. Maybe I've been lucky, but...those are my results.

I love paypall. When You order something, you don't have to fill out forms. Just click paypal, and say pay it.
