Willie Nelson arrested for pot
Dude, this isn't news. It happens like clockwork.
If you had ever been in a painter's studio will the painter was working, you would understand the fumes altered thier thinking.

Thanks for the reply Tumba, no offense taken.
I'm sure Willie knows what he's doing when it comes to "cultivation"...
.....
Some of the greatest art works and inventions available in the world today came to people "while thier mind was altered" or "impaired" as you put it.

Man I couldnt agree more. Why would you want to sit there on your couch high as a kite looking like an idiot?
Find a hobbie that doesnt alter brain function and your motor skills. So hard these days tho when all people want to do is get high.
What ever happened to a nice family outing at the lake camping and fishing? Or working on an old truck. Or a real hard one that people cant even fathom anymore.....Something that isnt based around the TV! A good hobby that doesnt kill you and actually makes your brain work.
Kinda like kids these days growing up on video games and are now as dumb as a box of rocks when they get older. What ever happened to getting your kids an erector set? Or something where they have fun doing and actually gain mechanical and problem solving abilities?
Kinda the whole weed argument tho. Much more productive things to do with my time. But why do anything productive when you can blaze it with your buddies and watch the butterflies float across your ceiling
Not saying I dont enjoy the occasional beer. But if it became outlawed again its not like I depended on it in the first place. So I wouldnt care.

Also when some one is sittng still does not mean they are not productive. That is an opinion.
I have worked with people who had to get a pot fix before work (drive in to work), during work (lunch break), and after work (drive home and at home). That is the definition of addiction.
Obviously you have to be unable to function without the substance in question. Knowing the odd pothead that smokes it like it's going out of style, I'd say it's not an addiction, it's just that they don't care enough about their life or career (at the time) not to do it.
MJ makes you slower and not care to function
, versus caffiene, cocaine or tobacco, which wakes or speeds you up so you CAN function.
Pot doesn't cause cancer. Maybe a rolling paper does, but smoking through a water filtration pipe eliminates 99% of all carcinogens. Also, it's illegal, even to do studies on, so there's no proof that it causes cancer, and the tests that I have seen did not mention any other statistic such as tobacco use or anything else, so it's misconstrued.
Potheads don't all sit around doing nothing, and you're right, most aren't master artists. Some set records for gold medals, some sell millions of albums and entertain you in just about every medium you can think of, some run countries, some found countries (like this one), and tons of other things.
So, go ahead and close your mind, keep losing the battle against pot because not everyone is against it just because it was deemed illegal by guys who didn't want to compete with hemp in their timber businesses, and keep spending your money trying to stop it all. Good luck with that.

When I was a teenager. Floores Country Store was just that, a country store about 2 miles from the house that also had tables for folks to eat Bar-B-Q and drink beer. Willie would come in and sing for beer. I've taken him many a bottle of Pearl beer that my dad and friends would buy him. Sometimes after Floores he and my family would go up on Marin Hollow Drive to some folks we knew and have more eats and drinks. Willie always drank beer and smoked pot- always, since I've known him. He's about as simple a human as a human can get but he has his vices like most of us do. He enjoys life to the fullest. Yeah, he has done some great things besides FarmAid too. A lot of his money he just gives away. Folks in need, real need are his friends and he helps with a lot of the sick kids around this country too. He's probably the best ambassador this country will have in this generation. But you'll never hear him brag once about helping anybody. Great guy. Most likely if you ever get the chance to meet him, he'll take time to chat with you so the opportunity offers itself, take advantage of it. He's a lot like Hondo Crouch only Willie sings a lot better. Now Hondo Crouch....well, that's another adventure I've had the pleasure to experience.
People that drink coffee every morning are also addicts. You can be a very productive citizen and still addicted to something...
