The Volt certainly isn't COT material in my opinion. However ,Chevy is making some good things these days. I know you'll all bash me, but I own a Cruze also. It is a fantastic car. The Focus, Corolla and Civic simply are not in the same league. The Korean cars are the only real competition for it.

My question is this. Who is going to drive these electric cars? Where will they "plug in"? I know there is an effort underway to come up with charging stations, but I guess you'll be limited to large tree hugging cities? Why in the world would I buy a vehicle like that?

^^ Well put sir.

$ 40k, 4,000#, and a fresh battery pack in the future. (Toyota warranties theirs for ten years). How would that compare to a $ 25k, 2,500#, 1.8L turbo, gas or diesel? If gasoline was $ 10 a gallon, it might be worthy of consideration.

GM vehicles are getting better and I like the styling.

I wonder how long the batteries would last up here in the winter with the heater/defrost running all the time.
It will probably be another 10 years before they have any charging stations around here. They don't even sell E85 in Maine yet so I don't even see the need for a flex fuel vehicle.
