I'm not much of a soccer fan but I did get it when a buddy of mine made me go to a game with him.

The game doesn't translate well to TV which is really why it doesn't get much support in the US.
It is a lot like hockey. I am a huge Blackhawks fan but to watch it on TV is hard. In the stadium it is awesome but too hard to follow on TV.

 

To each their own. America has its own long standing sports such as:

Carlin rules, but now soccer seems even more a sport for girls... And after hearing that, baseball isn't too far behind.

 

Soccer is for girly men.

Rugby is for real men.
