Dont expect much. Quad resale sucks. One of my friends is trying to sell his '08 Suzuki Z400 and cant sell it for $2800 despite paying $8k for it new.

My quad isnt worth half of what I owe on it either.

thanks for the insight. that will definitely weigh on my decision. My dads brute force need the valves adjusted every 50 or so hours. We are going to learn how to do it one of these days, so I might be able to on the 450 if I get it. Nothing is set in stone, I have just had someone ask me to sell my 250, so considering a new bike.

PJB- I know, I tried to tell my parents to not buy new, but they did. They only paid around 3500 for it and it is paid off. I was looking at getting around 2000-2200 for it, because as stated before 04 250's go for around 1900 here.

Yea financing a quad isnt the best idea, however you dont need an old mx racing 18yr old to tell you that.

Yea man anytime.

Also take in to consideration, when we ran our bikes, they ran hard. On the rev limiter all day long, slamming gears, no clutching, just absolutely killing these things to be a little faster then the guy lined up next to us. When they are ran right they will last forever. If it starts spittin smoke, tear it down, dont wait. What would cost a few hundred bucks here could save you a grand later on.

Honda has the most reliable sport ATV's hands down. I started on yamaha, went to suzuki, and finally made it to honda.

Dont let maintenance scare you, instead of it being a pain, make it a fun time. I always loved tearing the bikes apart with my brother, cleaning and servicing them was fun to us. I believe its Haynes who has an awesome manual for these things. will take you step by step in servicing, and any other maintenance, including valves.

I love this site for general purchases.

I usually use this one for ordering odd ball hardware. There prices are a little higher but you can buy any oem parts (hardware 90% of the time is what i got) from top to bottom.

I know for a fact Hondas are the most reliable. This 250 has been an awesome bike, and I think if I can sell it a 450 will be in the shop(our 2nd garage basically) soon.
