NOW we know why you moved to BFE, er... Kansas/KNEEbraska (pretty much the same thing aren't they?) Bet those (paper targets) aren't doing the happy dance... probably shivering and shaking like Habs at -40 in his B'day suit waiting for his "friend" to arrive.

Not the reason I moved here. In fact, I had never shot a gun until I moved here.

(Actually, I take that back, I had shot a rifle once when I was about 17, but that was back in the 1880s).

Then I moved here, met a bunch of gun nuts (I still think they're nuts), and they've been teaching me how to shoot. (Turns out I'm pretty good at it.)

I want to do 1000 yards with this .308 (gotta find some place to try).

When I move back to Los Angeles, I won't be able to take any of my toys with me.

I don't think this rifle is legal back in the nanny state. I know my Walther P99 (15 mag) is not legal in So. Cal. (It might be with 10 mag and some alterations?)(I'm still amazed that you can walk into a gun store here and get a weapon same day . . . in five minutes actually.)

I'll have to leave them here with my friends and use when I come back to visit.

But I'm not leaving any time soon.

So . . . happy dance.

Something else.

It's a Howa M 1500 on a Knox Axiom stock. 24" heavy barrel. I can go into other details later but I'm making dinner and it's almost done.

You can read some details about it here:

http://www.gunblast.com/Howa-Axiom308.htm

and for more details on the Remington 700 story Zaairman linked to go here:
