dont ask - dont tell
***!!!!
If gays were born gay then 'gay' would be in their genes. Then of course they would pass those genes on when the procreated. Oh wait no they don't because gays can't procreate with other gays. So them saying 'I was born this way' is just a cop out for a gay person to claim that being gay is not a choice, which it is, 100%.
We can't put gays in the same platoons because that would cause all sorts of problems out in the field when they go 'lights out' just like if you were to put boys and girls together.
Why can't you libtards understand that we can't make everyone happy all the time? Life sucks and its unfair, get the hell over it. I don't get everything I want in life either but I don't **** and moan for the rest of my life about being discriminated against.

Dont ask dont tell seems fine to me. Why change it
The problem with "Don't ask, don't tell" is that it potentially could be an easy way to blackmail a soldier for one thing. Consider the situation of being off duty and someone by chance were to see a gay (not openly) person in a gay bar or situation. Could be an issue???
We all have been in a locker room or washroom at one time or another with a gay person. I haven't heard anyone here come out and say they have been attacked by a gay person.
Unwanted advances are a whole other part of conduct so that isn't an issue.
If they are physically and mentally capable to serve then give them a gun and let them do their thing.
This is as illogical as making black people have their own units in WWII. They were equally good soldiers but bigotry made them separate.
The latest case I heard of was a nurse that had been highly decorated and in like 20 yrs and when she was found to be gay she was discharged. What sense does that make?
The biblical argument doesn't hold water, because if you use the Bible as a moral judge, anyone that consumes alcohol could be immoral as some religions interpret the Bible as saying so. Or even better, anyone with a tattoo has to be out as the Bible says not to desecrate your body.
The bottom line is we should thank the people that protect our country but still they have to abide by the same rules as the rest of us.

I got to sit in on a Town Hall meeting with members of the DoD's staff for this whole repeal thing a few months ago so they could get our opinions on how the Soldiers feel about it, they had Soldiers from most of the units on Fort Hood. The DoD were also doing a survey on the Army Knowledge Online portal, which is where we have access to our records and such. I think they were going to make a decision around the beginning of the fiscal year. Then there's this from earlier this week.
Me personally, as long as the mission gets completed I don't care what kind of **** (as long as its not kiddie, that's just disgusting) Joe or Jane watches when we get done. I'm secure enough with my manhood not to worry about another man hitting on me. Plus its not gay when you're in the field (running joke in my section.)

look at it this way the reason the earth flooded was because of man laying with man his own kind and being a lover of this!
so i ask is GOD wrong or are Gay's wrong?
i would have to say it was Adam and eve not Adam and Steve so gay is WRONG!

Here is a thought. You can hate the sin, but love the sinner. Each man and woman has to make their own decisions in life. We are held accountable to such decisions. We as Christians need to do our best and build bridges, not cause conflict. I believe the Bible when it says it is wrong. Am I perfect? No? I do my best but still fail. Do you remember the story about the adulterous woman that the religious leaders of the day wanted to stone and asked Jesus if it was right to follow Moses' law? Jesus wrote on the ground for a moment and then said, "those with out sin caste the 1st stone".......then he looked down again and when he looked up saw only the woman. He asked if their was anyone their to bring these charges, she said no, then Jesus said neither do I, go and sin no more. So we really need to get the log out of our own eyes and not the splinter in others......make sense?
