Now consider all the emissions crap they force upon diesels and you've lost everything youve gained.

wow looks like I started something here. Posted on a tempo/topaz forum and got one responds.

Yes I agree diesel is an awesome power soarce. Wish the EPA agreed. More so If any of the "big 3" got there s**t together and actually made a diesel half ton the would have made the ultimate all around truck if you ask me. Good fuel economy, torque, comfort, and the 9000 that these trucks are rated to pull would be a breeze w/o gulping fuel. I'm sure some will disagree just my .02 on the matter.

I will try to keep this updated with fuel milage reports, maintainence, etc...

right, now strip the EMISSIONS bs off and re-tune it. see where you get. Note: I did not say retune for power gains.

Exactly! IMO this is why Dodge had to step up to the 6.7 cummins inorder to offset the power loss with all the emissions.

But as long as cars and trucks are being manufactured there will always be someone who knows how to remove the emissions equipent and 1) fool the sensors to allow the vehicle to run, and 2) crank up the power!!!!!
